You can’t improve on perfection. Whilst this recipe is as simple as it can be, you’ll bake glorious cornflake cakes that combine the crunch of cornflakes with the chewiness of chocolate and syrup.

For the Cakes

75 g

Unsalted butter

about 30 ml

Golden Syrup

200 g

Dr. Oetker 35% Milk Chocolate

150 g

Cornflakes

To Decorate

Dr. Oetker Wafer Dinosaurs

Dr. Oetker Wafer Unicorns

Dr. Oetker Unicorn Head Sprinkles

Dr. Oetker Dino Head Sprinkles

Chocolate Cornflakes Cakes

Melt the butter in a saucepan over a low heat. Add the golden syrup stirring constantly until mixed. Add the Milk Chocolate and stir until the Chocolate has melted.

Remove from the heat add the cornflakes to the chocolatey mixture and stir to coat all the cornflakes.

Place the Fairy Cake cases into a bun tray and fill each case with the cornflake mixture.

Place the Wafer Unicorns and Dino in the top of the cornflake cake and sprinkle the Unicorn and Dino Sprinkles over the top of each cornflake cake.

Place your cornflake cakes into the fridge and allow to set of about 2 hours before serving.

Tips

To Make White Chocolate Cornflake Cakes:: Replace the Milk Chocolate with White Chocolate and follow the method, do not add the butter into the mixture as it will cause the white chocolate to seize.
