Little everyday choices add up to a big difference when we make them together. That’s why we’re on a journey towards more sustainable ingredients. We’re focused on reducing deforestation in our cocoa, palm oil, soy, sugar and paper supply chains by 2025 – bringing feel-good choices to everyone’s plate.
Choosing raw materials that benefit both the farmers and the environment is just as important as the final taste. Step by step, we are making conditions more environmentally friendly – so you can feel good about the selections you make.
Little by little, we are helping make the responsible choice the easy one. Therefore, we've started to certify more and more vanilla sourced for our pods, paste, extract and sugar baking ingredients as Fairtrade and organic! We’re also proud members of the Sustainable Vanilla Initiative (SVI), helping to create a more responsible vanilla industry. Learn more about the SVI
It’s no secret that at Dr. Oetker we love chocolate, purchasing around 9,200 tonnes of cocoa powder every year to help you create delicious chocolate treats – from brownies to triple chocolate cakes. Our cocoa powder is 99% Rainforest Alliance Certified – helping to protect biodiversity, empowering farming communities and preventing deforestation. Learn more about our cocoa-sourcing journey or visit the Rainforest Alliance website.
We never buy endangered species and, wherever possible, source tuna that is certified as sustainable by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC). Look out for the blue MSC label, which shows that the fish was caught sustainably, helping preserve healthy oceans and safeguard a future seafood supply. Learn more about the MSC
We all care deeply about our planet’s wellbeing, which is why our palm oil is certified.
For certification, palm oil must be produced in a way that protects wildlife, the environment, communities and workers, while tackling deforestation. Every small step matters and together, we can make a big difference. Learn more about the goals of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil
More and more of the chicken used on our pizzas meets the European Chicken Commitment, meaning better living conditions and greater care for the animals. The work being done today is a step towards more sustainable practices – such as creating more space and light for chickens.
Explore our commitment to ethical poultry sourcing, including following the European Chicken Commitment guidelines.
We’re helping to combat deforestation – a major cause of climate change – across our supply chains. With 99% of our cocoa powder already Rainforest Alliance Certified, we’re aiming for our palm oil, soy, sugar and paper supply chains to be deforestation-free by 2025.
We’re embracing regenerative agriculture, working with farmers to restore soil health, biodiversity and ecosystems while producing nutritious, sustainable food. We’re collaborating for a more sustainable future.
There are many ways we can all bake sustainability into our everyday actions. Across our five focus areas – Nutrition, Sustainable Ingredients, Minimising Waste, Climate Action and Inclusivity – we’re taking steps that, little by little, make a big difference. By working together, we can create a better tomorrow.
We’re moving towards more sustainable ingredients, reduced salt and sugar, more plant-based options and more recyclable packaging.
