Dr. Oetker Vege-Gel is a vegetarian setting agent, ideal for use in a wide variety of sweet and savoury recipes including soufflés, jellies, mousses, cheesecakes, terrines, flans and pies.
Dr. Oetker Vege-Gel is packed in individual sachets to keep the product fresh for each use. Each pack contains 3 sachets - each sachet is sufficient to set one pint (570 ml) of liquid. Each sachet multipack comes with a free recipe card, with a delicious and creative recipe idea.
Vege-Gel is a vegetarian alternative to gelatine and not a substitute. Therefore, it has to be used in a slightly different way to gelatine and it may be necessary to adapt your recipe, when using acidic liquids or vinegar, use two sachets for best results. When dissolving in fruit juice, heat to near boiling point and cool quickly to aid setting.
Our collection of gelatines are used to form a smooth, gelled but elastic texture which is not sticky or brittle. Our range contains beef, pork and vegetarian gelatine which are suitable for a variety of diets and food preferences.
