How to carve your Halloween Pumpkin

Pumpkins are an exciting part of Halloween, look below for tips for how to make your Halloween Pumpkin!

  • To begin, choose a pumpkin with a flat base so that it sits well. Make it safe on a chopping board or tea towel before starting. Then using a sharp knife, cut all around the top. Remove the circle shaped 'lid' but remember not to throw this away.
  • Next, using a large spoon, scoop all the seeds and flesh out of the centre of the pumpkin putting them in a separate container.
  • When you have decided on your design use a marker pen to draw a face template on to the pumpkin. Then using a small, serrated knife, cut it out. Making sure to always cut away from you.
  • When the face has been cut out you are now ready to make it glow. Carefully position a couple of tea lights inside the pumpkin and replace the lid to the top of the pumpkin.
